CONSTRUCTION NOTES
About this construction.
Reading the code F70.01.00.00.A
F70.01.00.00.A sits in ECMA group F, the group for cartons that fit none of the rectangular tube or tray groups. The blank is two large panels joined by a glue flap that laps under the free edge of the second panel. At each end a curved crease runs across both panels; pressing the ends in along those curves bows the panels into the pillow shape and closes the carton without a tuck or a lock. A thumb notch on the second panel opens it. Variant A is the catalogue's proportioning of the construction.
Typical uses
Gift and promotional packaging for small, light goods: jewellery, cosmetic samples, confectionery, cables and accessories, and favour boxes.
Dimensions and board
The parameters above — length, width, depth and paper thickness — drive the whole blank. Board caliper is not a footnote: tuck clearances, lock engagement and panel fit all scale with it, which is why it is a first-class input to the parametric model rather than an allowance you add by hand.
Every value is validated against the template's supported range, and the 2D dieline and 3D fold preview regenerate together from the same structure. Confirm final board grade, grain direction and tolerances with your converter before production.
Industries and applications
Converters cut the Gift Box (ECMA F70.01.00.00.A) for gift boxes and presentation packs, cosmetics, skincare and fragrance boxes, and jewellery and watch boxes.
Gift packaging sells on the moment of opening, so the closure and the fit of the lid matter as much as the print.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Quick answers about this template.
What is Gift Box — Pillow Box?
ECMA F70.01.00.00.A is the pillow box: a one-piece carton whose front and back vault outward because curved crease lines pull the two ends in, with a glue flap under the free edge and a thumb notch to open it. It erects by hand in one movement.
Which dimensions does the Gift Box — Pillow Box dieline need?
4 parameters drive the blank: L (length), W (width), D (depth), Paper thickness (mm, µm). Each value is validated against the template's supported range, and the whole dieline regenerates from them.
Can I see how Gift Box — Pillow Box folds before cutting it?
Yes. The interactive 3D fold preview and the 2D dieline are generated from the same parametric model, so the fold you watch on screen is the geometry of the sheet you cut. Open the template in the studio to fold it at your own dimensions; 3D folding comes with the Workshop and Line plans.
