CONSTRUCTION NOTES
About this construction.
How this blank is built
The tray is the unglued hook-lock tray of ECMA B15.06.82.00, drawn by the same code as the catalogue's promoted template: the end walls hang from the back wall, the floor flaps hinge on the base, and a hook panel on each side of the front wall folds round the end wall and drops its foot through a slot in the base. The two long walls each carry a half-lid, and each half-lid carries a grip panel.
Closed, the half-lids meet on the box's centreline and the two grips stand face to face above them. Grip A's hand hole is cut on three sides and creased on its top edge, so it is a flap; grip B's hole is cut fully and half a millimetre larger. The flap passes through grip B and folds back onto its outside face, which locks the handle and holds both lid ends down. One sheet, no glue, no separate parts.
What the dimensions mean
Length, width and depth are the tray's inside dimensions, crease to crease, as on every ECMA tray in the catalogue. Handle height is the grip panel's height above the lid crease; the hand hole is 26 mm high and keeps at least 15 mm of board on every side, so the handle needs at least 60 mm.
Paper thickness sets the allowances: the lid creases stand one board above the end walls, and the flap's two creases sit the larger of 2 t + 0.3 mm and 3 mm apart. The width stays between half and twice the depth and never exceeds the length, which are the tray's own limits. Three presets cover the usual bakery sizes: a 300 x 100 x 70 mm baguette box, a 150 x 50 x 40 mm eclair box and a 110 x 40 x 40 mm macaron box.
What is verified, and what needs a sample
Because an original has no reference blank, it is held by rules. A test proves that the tray's eighteen paths equal the promoted ECMA B15.06.82.00 template's own output on more than two hundred boxes across the size range. A second test checks the whole blank for production rules: facing creases at least 3 mm apart, every line ending on another line, no crossings, no double lines, and the hand-hole margins. A collision sweep folds the model through all nine stages without any panel passing through another.
What no program can prove is left to a white sample, which is still pending: that the hook feet enter their slots and hold, that the lid ends do not lift, that the flap stays up through grip B, that the handle carries a 1 kg load, and that the lock survives repeated opening. Until then the dieline is a tested starting point, not a guaranteed drawing.
From flat blank to folded form
The 3D preview folds the blank in the order a hand would: back wall, floor flaps, end walls, hook panels, front wall, dust flaps, then the grips, the half-lids and finally the flap through the handle. Scrub the fold to see the hook feet find their slots and the two grips meet.
The preview shows geometry, not board stiffness: it cannot show whether a lock grips or a crease cracks. Confirm board grade, grain direction and crease tooling on a sample with your converter before ordering a cutting die.
Industries and applications
Converters cut the Bakery & Cake Box (PD-HB01) for bakery, cake and pastry boxes, food and dry-goods cartons, and takeaway and food-service packs.
Bakeries fill by hand at the counter, so the box must erect in seconds and carry away without crushing what is inside.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Quick answers about this template.
What is Bakery & Cake Box — Twin-Lid Carry Handle?
PD-HB01 is a one-piece, glue-free bakery box designed by Packdroid: an ECMA B15.06 hook-lock tray whose two half-lids rise into a carry handle, locked together by the hand-hole flap.
Which dimensions does the Bakery & Cake Box — Twin-Lid Carry Handle dieline need?
5 parameters drive the blank: L (length), W (width), D (depth), H (grip height), Paper thickness (mm, um). Each value is validated against the template's supported range, and the whole dieline regenerates from them.
Can I see how Bakery & Cake Box — Twin-Lid Carry Handle folds before cutting it?
Yes. The interactive 3D fold preview and the 2D dieline are generated from the same parametric model, so the fold you watch on screen is the geometry of the sheet you cut. Open the template in the studio to fold it at your own dimensions; 3D folding comes with the Workshop and Line plans.
