STRUCTURE NOTES
About this construction.
How the construction works
The FB series pairs a wrapped lid with a folding-wall body: the wall component folds to form the box's sides and is wrapped as its own blank, while the lid — board plus outer and inner wrappers — closes over it. Splitting the construction this way keeps each blank simple while the assembled box reads as one piece.
Inside this construction
Configuring this template produces the construction's full component kit — the lid's rigid board, its outer and inner wrappers, two folding-wall rigid boards, two folding-wall wrappers — as separate blanks generated from the same parameters, so the parts agree with each other by construction.
This variant's parameter set also includes a diameter, which drives the construction's rounded detail — adjust it and the affected blanks reshape together.
Board, wrap and fit
In rigid work the board's thickness is a first-class dimension, which is why it appears among this template's parameters: every internal measurement propagates outward through the caliper, a lid must clear what it closes over, and a tray must seat inside walls whose thickness consumes real millimeters. The wrapper blanks carry turn-in allowances derived from the same dimensions as the boards they cover.
Change one dimension and the dependent component blanks update in step, keeping the fit relationships intact. Confirm board caliper, wrap material and corner treatment with your manufacturer before committing tooling — corner style in particular can rule construction options in or out.
Typical uses
Folding-wall constructions suit rigid packaging that must still ship efficiently: the wall component folds while the finished box keeps full rigid presence — a common answer for premium boxes produced at volume.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Quick answers about this template.
What is Twin-Wall Folding Rigid Box?
Rigid FB02 is a rigid box pairing a wrapped lid with a folding-wall body; configuring it generates every component blank — boards and wrappers — from the same parameters.
Which dimensions does the Twin-Wall Folding Rigid Box dieline need?
6 parameters drive the blank: L (length), W (width), D (depth), d (diameter) and 2 more construction-specific values (mm, um). Each value is validated against the template's supported range, and the whole dieline regenerates from them.
Can I see how Twin-Wall Folding Rigid Box folds before cutting it?
Yes. The interactive 3D fold preview and the 2D dieline are generated from the same parametric structure, so the fold you watch on screen is the geometry of the sheet you cut. Open the template in the preview studio to fold it at your own dimensions.
