STRUCTURE NOTES

About this construction.

How the construction works

The BK series builds cover-and-core constructions: a wrapped outer assembly closes around an inner board set that carries its own cover wrappers. Each board component is cut from thick greyboard and covered inside and out, so every visible face — outside, inside, edges — is wrapped material rather than raw board. It is the construction logic of book-style rigid packaging: an outer case that opens to present a fitted interior.

Inside this construction

Configuring this template produces the construction's full component kit — the rigid board set, an outer wrapper, an inner wrapper — as separate blanks generated from the same parameters, so the parts agree with each other by construction.

Board, wrap and fit

In rigid work the board's thickness is a first-class dimension, which is why it appears among this template's parameters: every internal measurement propagates outward through the caliper, a lid must clear what it closes over, and a tray must seat inside walls whose thickness consumes real millimeters. The wrapper blanks carry turn-in allowances derived from the same dimensions as the boards they cover.

Change one dimension and the dependent component blanks update in step, keeping the fit relationships intact. Confirm board caliper, wrap material and corner treatment with your manufacturer before committing tooling — corner style in particular can rule construction options in or out.

Typical uses

Book-style rigid constructions carry premium presentation duty: gift sets, electronics and accessories, brand kits and keepsake packaging — anywhere the opening motion itself is part of the product experience.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Quick answers about this template.

What is Book-Style Rigid Box?

Rigid BK01 is a book-style cover-and-core rigid box — a wrapped outer assembly closing around a fitted inner board set; configuring it generates every component blank — boards and wrappers — from the same parameters.

Which dimensions does the Book-Style Rigid Box dieline need?

4 parameters drive the blank: L (length), W (width), D (depth), Rigid board thickness (mm). Each value is validated against the template's supported range, and the whole dieline regenerates from them.

Can I see how Book-Style Rigid Box folds before cutting it?

Yes. The interactive 3D fold preview and the 2D dieline are generated from the same parametric structure, so the fold you watch on screen is the geometry of the sheet you cut. Open the template in the preview studio to fold it at your own dimensions.
