Slotted boxes ship flat and erect quickly, which is why this series carries most of the world's shipping cartons.

Within the series, 0201 is the design published as the Regular Slotted Container (RSC). The four-digit code carries the full structural intent — specify it to any converter and both sides mean the same construction; only dimensions and board grade remain to be agreed.

How the structure behaves

The regular slotted container is the most manufactured box style in the world: all flaps share the same depth, the outer flaps meet at the center of the box, and the blank closes with a single manufacturer's joint. It uses board efficiently — no flap is longer than it needs to be — and runs on standard case-making and taping equipment.
